Spirit leaped on the Miracle Stone. "We have a new wolf joining us today! His name is Sohomah, and he is a fighter! Treefrog, please show him around!"
"Also, Night has taken Tell as her mate, and she is now expecting his pups! Tell is now the beta male!
Meeting dissmissed!"
Sohomah stood at attention, excitedly awaiting Treefrog's tour of the pack boundaries.
ReplyDeleteTreefrog padded up to Sohomah. "Im Treefrog. Would you like to see camp of the territory first?"
ReplyDeleteSohomah nodded enthusiasticly. Although he was an adult, he still had some young pupish ways about him.
ReplyDelete"Sure! I'd love too!" he padded forward to Treefrog, quietly and cautiously eyeing her up and down. She seemed hardy and...cute! He thought with anguish. His sister had looked very similar too Treefrog. She had been killed by a bear the last few years ago and the pain still flooded Sohomah whenever he stepped somwhere they had gone together before.
"Y-you look a lot like my sister." he murmured suddenly.
"WHat a conincedince." Treefrog barked, sounding upbeat. "C'mon!" she led him to the center of camp, where the dens were easilt visible. Wolves milled about, some eating, some just sitting. Treefrog pointed out all the dens, the entire time sounding upbeat and happy, her voice filled with joy.
ReplyDeleteSohomah grinned at her upbeat outlook on things. She was so happy! All the time!
ReplyDelete"I really appriciat you showing me all of this." woofed Sohomah with an attempt to get to know Treefrog better. He hinted this by sitting down as if ready to have a long chat.
Treefrog smiled, sitting down. "Well, its fun to show new wolves around!" she barked. "Plus, theres not one bad wolf in this pack, and ita a great place to live!"
ReplyDelete"I'll bet..!" Sohomah murmured. "So when did you come here, Treefrog..?"
ReplyDelete"Oh, some time ago." Treefrog waved the question away.
ReplyDeleteSohomah took her vauge answer and paw-gesture to mean she didn't want to talk about it. Maybe she had had a rough past before she came her...
ReplyDelete"Do you have any Kin in the pack?" he smiled at the pack of wolves around them.
Treefrog shugged. "No one, but the pack is like my family." she barked.
ReplyDeleteSohomah grinned.
ReplyDelete"So what are you? A Hunter? I'm sure your great at whatever you do!" he then ducked his head in embaressment, realizing his sudden comment might be interpreted the wrong way.
"Im a fighter, like you." Treefrog barked, grinning.
ReplyDeleteSohomah grinned also.
ReplyDelete"I'll bet we'd make a good team!" again, he suddenly realized a mistake and froze, mouth open slightly.
"I-I-I mean, I bet- You're probably a great fighter....I need to shut up don't I..?"
Treefrog smiled. "Is no big deal." she barked.
ReplyDeleteSohomah laughed.
ReplyDelete"I always mess up my words! Well, Thanks for showing me around! I really apriciate that!"
Sohomah trotted off towards the group that was gathering to go on the Border Patrol.*
Treefrog trotted after, making sure the group was ready.
ReplyDelete"Hey! Listen!" Sohomah suddenly gasped. Sounds of fighting was heard. Howls, shrieks and barks of pain split through the air.
ReplyDelete"The Cliffs**!!" he gasped.
Spirit had already heard, and was sending out wolves to help.
ReplyDeleteTreefrog bristle, but stayed calm. "Spirit is taking care of it. We need to stay calm and fallow orders."
"oh...okay.." Sohomah woofed reluctantly. He obviously wanted to fight, like all young wolves, to prove his strength and his loyalty.
ReplyDeleteTreefrog nodded.
ReplyDeleteSpirit turmed to Treefrog. "Treefrog, I want you over there, and please take control. You have my prmission."
Treefrog nodded, waved her tail in goodbye to Sohomah, and trotted off.
(Just trying to make this connect with whats going on)
(makes sense now. :) )
ReplyDelete"But! Wha-...What am I going to do..?" he sked, instantly realizing it sounded foolish and childish.
Spirit looked Sohomah. "Stay calm and stay here." she barked.
ReplyDelete"Okay..." he barked. Then he sat down and stared around him.
